His helper on Brendan Gallagher's goal when he wheeled behind the net before making a centering pass was a thing of beauty. Subban has compiled four assists in his last two games, but he's still looking for his first goal since Mar. 3.

It marker just the second time this season that he's played fewer than 20 minutes in a game. Subban recorded two hits and a minus-1 rating in the contest. He has 53 points and 79 penalty minutes in 77 games this year.

Subban has been one of the league's top offensive defenseman this season with 10 goals and 53 points in 76 games. He won the Norris Trophy last season, but it's hard to picture him as the favorite this time around despite his offensive production.

He had two helpers in the contest, but was victimized in his own end on three Red Wings' markers in a 5-4 victory. Subban finished the game with a minus-1 rating. He has no goals and 10 assists in his last 12 outings.

P.K Subban scored a goal in Montreal's 2-1 loss to Los Angeles Monday evening.

It was a fluke goal by Subban, who started the possession in L.A.'s end and sent a shot from the right wall that Jonathan Quick redirected to the skate of Jarret Stoll and into the goal at 14:45 of the first. Subban scored in his second straight game and he now has 10 goals and 32 assists in 63 games this season. Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais assisted the lone goal.

With that, Subban has reached and surpassed the 40-point milestone for the first time in his career, although there's no doubt he would have done it in 2012-13 if the season wasn't shortened. Subban's 41 points puts him in a tie with Alex Pietrangelo for fourth place in the blueliner scoring race.

Montreal and Team Canada teammate Carey Price credited P.K. Subban for his class during the Winter Olympics.

"(Subban) definitely carried himself very well. He handled himself with the utmost professionalism," Price said. "He might not have played a whole lot, but he definitely was a character ... and he was a big part of the team." Subban suited up in only one game for Canada during the tournament and he received 11:41 of ice time in that contest.

The 24 year-old Subban played with a variety of partners and was used sparingly since the team has excelled with pairings of Weber-Keith, Bouwmeester-Pietrangelo and Doughty-Vlasic.
