Stuart (back) will be subjected to a contract buyout by the Avs, per general manager Joe Sakic, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given that he's set for a contract buyout at 36 years old, the Avalanche will not get any cap relief. However, there will be salary buyout savings amounting to $2.4 million in 2016-17. The 16-year veteran only appeared in six games last season and went scoreless with a minus-2 rating. After undergoing back surgery last February, it would be surprising to see the defenseman extend his playing career for much longer.

Stuart (back) has gone on injured reserve Thursdaythe NHL's official media site reports.
EDGE Analysis
At this point, it would be surprising if Stuart gets onto the ice the season following his back surgery. The veteran defender has played in only six games this year without recording a point. If he is able to return to action, its unlikely the 36-year-old will start producing enough points to make an impact on daily lineups.

Stuart has undergone back surgery and will miss an extended period of time.
EDGE Analysis
Stuart has just six total games under his belt this season, and it sounds as though that number won't increase any time soon. The team should provide another update when the veteran blueliner begins closing in on a return, but Stuart's timetable remains indefinite at this point.

Coach Patrick Roy indicated Sunday that Stuart (back) reportedly attempted to skate recently, but it didn't go well, Brian Hedger of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stuart was reportedly dealing with a leg injury stemming from his earlier back issue, and a recent skate apparently didn't provide any reason for optimism. His timetable remains pretty open-ended, but the team should continue to provide updates when the veteran blueliner begins closing in on a return to the lineup.

Stuart is dealing with some leg pain that's rooted in his earlier back injury, and remains without a timetable for return as a result.
EDGE Analysis
Stuart was thought to be nearing a return to the lineup, but it appears he's still dealing with a leg injury stemming from the previous issue. It's unclear when the veteran blueliner will return, but it appears that could be a ways off.

Stuart (back) is close to returning, per Avalanche coach Patrick Roy.
EDGE Analysis
The 36-year-old blueliner has not played since Nov. 10. He's a veteran shutdown man that skates well and tends to glue himself to opponents, but with just 335 points in 1056 career games, he can safely be passed over in fantasy leagues.

Stuart returned to Denver due to some back issues, Drew Spevak of ESPN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stuart has yet to collect a point through six games this season, posting a minus-2 rating over that period. The Avalanche recalled Zach Redmond to serve as the team's seventh defensemen on the current road trip. However, the Avalanche don't return home until Nov. 25 against the Senators, so it's possible Stuart will rejoin the team at some point should his back feel better.

Stuart will be scratched for Tuesday's game against the Panthers, Drew Spevak of ESPNDenver.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Tyson Barrie set to return from his three-game suspension Tuesday night against the Panthers, Colorado is no longer in need of Stuart's services on the blue line. It will likely require another injury or suspension for Stuart to draw back into the Avalanche's lineup.

Stuart will miss Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets as he continues to deal with a back injury, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stuart, a veteran defenseman, has only made his way into two games this season, averaging 12:53 TOI in the process. He's considered day-to-day and his next chance to suit up will be Oct. 27, a road game against the Panthers.

Stuart (leg) will not play in Saturday's regular-season finale against the Blackhawks, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports. Stuart sustained the injury in Thursday's game against the Jets, and with the Avalanche already out of the running for a playoff spot, the team made the quick determination to shut him down for the remainder of the season. At present, the Avalanche only have five healthy blueliners at their disposal, so expect them to announce an AHL call-up Friday or Saturday in the wake of Stuart's absence.
