Paul Stastny (back) participated in a full practice on Monday.

He could be ready to play on Tuesday, but a determination on his status won't be made until the morning. Stastny has been out since Mar. 8 due to a back injury.

Paul Stastny is on the trip with the Avalanche, but is doubtful to play Sunday against the Senators.

The center has not played since March 8, when he skated for only 40 seconds. It seems as if he's getting closer, but the Avs will be very careful with such an important piece. Stastny has 20 goals and 27 assists this season.

It looks as if the Avalanche are going to be very patient with Paul Stastny.

They will not rush him into the lineup as they want his back to fully heal. "We're just not going to push on him. When he's ready, he'll be ready," coach Patrick Roy said. "Right now we are a team that is playing well, and there is no urgency to put him in the lineup if he's not 100 percent. We'll see what happens in the next few days." Stastny could, therefore, miss another game or two. Leave him on reserve until further notice.

It doesn't sound like Paul Stastny will be available to return on Friday from a back injury.

Coach Patrick Roy said he would be "very surprised" if Stasny was ready to play against Anaheim. He has already missed two games because of the ailment.

Paul Stastny (back) will miss Wednesday's game against Chicago.

It will be Stastny's second straight contest on the sidelines. He should be regarded as day-to-day beyond that.

Paul Stastny (back) will not suit up in Colorado's game against Winnipeg on Monday.

He might be ready to return on Wednesday. Nathan MacKinnon will center Jamie McGinn and Gabe Landeskog in his place.

Paul Stastny suffered a back injury on his first shift against St. Louis Saturday afternoon and he wasn't able to return.

He logged just 40 seconds of ice time and the Avalanche didn't provide an update on his status during the contest. He'll probably be re-evaluated on Sunday.

Paul Stastny is happy that the trade deadline has come and gone and that he's still on the Colorado Avalanche.

"It's one of those situations where you're happy it's over with," he said. Stastny can be an unrestricted free agent this summer, but his "first option" is remain with the Avalanche. The two sides will take about a contract after the season, so there is a risk that he will leave for another team.

Paul Stastny is open to giving the Avalanche a hometown discount when it comes to his next contract.

The question is what he sees as a discount. His five-year, $33 million contract is set to expire this summer and while he's been great, that price has been suspect. If he's expects to maintain that cap hit or even get a raise then he might face resistance from the Avalanche.
