No word yet on how long Salo could be out for. At this stage in the season, drop him for a healthier blueliner.

After missing a couple of games, the Tampa Bay Lightning welcome Sami Salo (lower-body) back into the lineup on Monday.

He's been a very nice fit for the Bolts in his first season there. The Lightning are still struggling to improve in their own end in 2013, so getting the fragile veteran back is a relief.

Sami Salo (lower body) won't play Thursday against the New York Rangers.

However, coach Guy Boucher said he may be able to suit up Saturday versus the Boston Bruins.

Sami Salo (lower body) will travel with his teammates to New York, where the Lightning will play the Rangers Thursday.

For now he is being listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, so consider questionable for Thursday's match.

Salo has one goal, seven assists and is a plus-11 in 19 games this season. Consider him day-to-day and monitor his status prior to tomorrow's game vs. the Rangers.

The often injured Salo left the game early Tuesday. We will update when we know more.

Sami Salo's play is one of the main reasons Tampa's power play has improved so much over last season.

The Bolt's PP is fifth in 2013, light years ahead of it's 25th rating last season and much of the credit can go to Salo who has been a steadying influence from the point. It also doesn't hurt that he has a booming accurate slapshot. If he is unclaimed in your league, you could do worse than add Salo as a fifth or sixth defenseman.
