As expected, Rinne led the Predators onto the ice for pregame warmups and will be in the crease Tuesday against the Flames.

Rinne will match up against Calgary's Karri Ramo as he looks to improve his record to 3-0 on the season.

Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is expected to start Tuesday against the Flames.

Thanks to a stout defense that has allowed just 38 shots in two games, Rinne has opened with a 2-0 record in what the Finnish goalie hopes will be a bounce-back campaign. An outing against the offensively-challenged Flames should present Rinne with a strong chance at remaining undefeated, and serve as a reminder that the 31-year-old still ranks among the league's best netminders.

Rinne stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced in Saturday's win over Dallas.

Rinne is now 2-0-0 on the season, surrendering only three goals in that span. The 31-year-old is off to a great start in 2014-15 after seeing both his save percentage and goals-against average drop off significantly last season. Rinne possess all the necessary tools to return to elite status this season.

Rinne is expected to be in goal Saturday against the Stars, ThePredatorial.com reports.

Rinne was able oust the Senators by a 3-2 count in his season debut Thursday, and could be in good position to move to 2-0 on Saturday. He'll be playing at home and matching up against a far inferior goalie in Anders Lindback, the usual backup for the Stars.

Rinne stopped 18 of 20 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Senators.

Rinne got plenty of help from his teammates, who fired 37 shots on opposing minder Craig Anderson. The last two years have been tough for Rinne, and there's nothing yet to say that he can get back to the level that he played at in his huge 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.

Rinne will be in the net for the Predators' season opener Thursday against the Senators, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.

A hip infection limited Rinne to just 24 games last season, but after a healthy summer that was highlighted by an MVP performance in May's World Championship in Belarus, he'll look to reestablish himself as one of hockey's top netminders. With the hip no longer an issue for Rinne, he could return to the form that made him an annual Vezina Trophy contender from 2010 to 2012.

Rinne is expected to start Monday's preseason scrimmage against Columbus and play the entire game, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.

Last season, Rinne put up very mediocre numbers after undergoing hip surgery in late October, but so far he is erasing any concerns that he might not be back to 100%. So far this preseason, he has allowed just one goal on 35 shots over two games, so he's starting to look like his old dominant self again. Furthermore, given the offensive upgrades the Preds made during the offseason, Rinne is now surrounded by a stronger supporting cast, which gives his fantasy value a significant boost. Move him up a few spots on your cheat sheets and don't be afraid to grab him in the early to middle rounds of your fantasy drafts.

Rinne says his hip "feels normal" after undergoing surgery last season, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports. "I worked hard and stayed healthy [this summer]", Rinne said. "I'm just really excited for this upcoming season. I feel like I'm ready to go."

Rinne will be looking to bounce back after his surgery caused him to miss nearly four months of playing time last season. Once he returned to the lineup in March, he went just 6-6-2 down the stretch and finished with a 2.77 GAA and .902 save percentage while splitting time with backup Carter Hutton. This season, a healthy Rinne will surely be given the chance to earn back his undisputed No. 1 status. However if he falters, the Preds will likely not hesitate to turn to Hutton who they signed to a two-year contract in June.

Pekka Rinne had a strong showing at the 2014 World Championship.

Rinne had a 1.88 GAA and .928 save percentage in eight games with Finland. He led the team to a silver medal in the tournament. After a rough campaign that was derailed by hip problems, it's particularly encouraging to see him start his offseason on a strong note. He's a great bounce back candidate for 2014-15.
