Zach Bogosian D WPG 4 Days

Bogosian (lower body) isn't likely to skate until the middle of January, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

He'll use the next few weeks to rehab the injury off the ice, further adding to the Jets' run of bad luck on the blue line. Along with Bogosian, all of Toby Enstrom, Jacob Trouba and Mark Stuart are expected to be out of commission until the middle of January, at the earliest.

Bogosian will miss four-to-six weeks with a lower-body injury. The Jets have placed him on injured reserve.

It's believed that Bogosian suffered the injury -- most likely a broken foot -- when he took a hard shot to his leg in Wednesday's win over the Oilers. Bogosian only provided no goals and eight points over 25 games, but his solid play on defense was a key reason the Jets have allowed the fourth-fewest goals per game this season. In addition to Bogosian, the Jets also announced Thursday that both Tobias Enstrom and Grant Clitsome would miss multiple weeks with injuries, leaving the team extremely shorthanded on the blue line.

Bogosian turned in an active outing in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Carolina, assisting on a score on offense while blocking two shots, delivering three hits and earning two penalty minutes over his 28 shifts.

Bogosian was awarded the game's third star for his efforts. The blueliner has a satisfactory seven assists and a plus-4 rating over 16 games, but he's still searching for his first goal of the season.

Bogosian (upper body) will play Thursday against the Devils, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Bogosian made it through pregame warmups without incident and will rejoin Tobias Enstrom on the Jets' top pairing. The 24-year-old has three points in eight games this season.

Bogosian will be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Islanders, Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Bogosian opened the season with a bang with two assists, but his production has trailed off since then, as the blueliner has mustered only one point in his last seven games. The dry spell in the scoring categories isn't unusual for even elite fantasy defensemen, but Bogosian has further rankled the Jets with poor defensive showings of late. Bogosian's move to the press box is likely just a one-time deal to help him recharge his batteries, but time is running out for the 24-year-old to live up to the huge expectations placed on him when he was drafted third overall in 2008.

Bogosian assisted on both of Blake Wheeler's goals in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Coyotes.

Just 15 seconds after he was credited for a secondary marker on Wheeler's first tally, Bogosian sent a booming shot at goalie Mike Smith, which Wheeler deflected in for his second goal. Bogosian failed to tally a single multi-point game last season, but he does have some pedigree as a scorer, having recorded 30 points in 65 games in 2011-12. The former No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft could be a post-hype sleeper candidate in his age-24 season.

Bogosian suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's game but was removed for precautionary reasons, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Bogosion's injury is apparently minor and with the news that he was removed for precautionary reasons, it appears he shouldn't miss any time in the regular season because of it. The team's final preseason game is Saturday, but at this point it's unclear if he will play or just rest for the regular season.

Bogosian suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday's preseason game.

The team didn't specify Bogosian's injury beyond lower-body, making it hard to judge the possible severity. With the regular season right around the corner, it's unclear at this point if it will cause him to miss any time.

There's still hope that Zach Bogosian can live up to his potential as the third overall pick in 2008.

He has battled injury during his tenure in Winnipeg, missing 59 games over his three seasons. In 55 matches last year, he collected 11 points, 94 hits and 75 blocks. The Jets have him signed through 2019-20 and he's already played 352 games before his 24th birthday.

Zach Bogosian's upper-body injury was back spasms.

The injury kept him on the shelf for Winnipeg's last 11 games of the regular season. He'll use the summer to fully recover. In 55 games this year, Bogosian had 11 points and 48 penalty minutes.
