Mikkel Boedker said he wants to add a mean streak to his game before next season.

Boedker has been accused of playing "too nice" by his general manager, Don Maloney. It's not something Boedker disagree with, saying he needs to learn to be a little "grumpy" in certain situations. Boedker also needs to work on his consistency in the offensive zone. The 23-year old had four goals and 15 points over his first 20 games but just three goals and 11 points over his final 28 contests.

Boedker scored 21 goals and 12 assists for 33 points in just 29 games. He also had a +16 rating, which would probably make his coach Dave Tippett happy. With just 11 goals and 24 points in a full 2011-12 season, it's probably foolish to expect too much, although he had a point in every other 2012 playoff contest.

The Phoenix winger has been outstanding in Finland with 30 points in 28 games. Boedker hasn't been able to get over the 11-goal plateau in the NHL during his career yet, but he did show some potential that he is ready to break out after a strong playoff performance. Boedker could be a player to watch when the NHL resumes play.
