Stalberg announced his retirement from professional hockey Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Stalberg appeared in 488 games with six different teams over eight seasons during his time in the NHL, racking up 82 goals and 168 points over that span. The Swedish winger then headed overseas to finish his career, playing for Zug EV and Fribourg-Gotteron HC of the Swiss-A league, Omsk Avangard of the KHL and Skelleftea AIK of the SHL over four seasons.

Stalberg (abdomen) signed a two-year contract with EV Zug in Switzerland, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stalberg posted 16 points in 75 games in Ottawa and Carolina last season. The veteran center seemingly still has the skills to play in the NHL, but he may have been getting tired of being a constant suitcase between the minors and various NHL clubs.

Stalberg fought through an abdominal injury during the playoffs, Bruce Garrioch of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The winger missed the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals against Pittsburgh with what was at the time an undisclosed injury. Even when healthy, the winger wasn't able to get much going offensively, with only two points--both assists--in 17 playoff games.

Stalberg (undisclosed) will retake his spot in the lineup for Wednesday's Game 3 against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Stalberg didn't participate in line rushes despite taking warmups, suggesting he would miss the contest. After talking to the athletic trainer, it appears he's doing well enough to give it a go. He's likely not full strength and would probably sit if it were the regular season, but all bets are off in the playoffs. The veteran winger has contributed four points across 18 games for the Senators this season and could be a sneaky play in daily formats.

Stalberg (undisclosed) was on the ice for pregame warmups, but he didn't participate in line rushes, indicating he won't be in the lineup for Wednesday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Penguins, Marc Brassard of le Droit d'Ottawa reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stalberg's presence on the ice for Wednesday's pregame skate suggests he's likely on the verge of returning to game action, but he'll have to wait until Friday's Game 5 for his next opportunity to do so. Ryan Dzingel will continue to skate in a bottom-six role while Stalberg remains sidelined.

Stalberg (undisclosed) is expected to play in Game 3 against the Penguins on Wednesday, the Ottawa Citizen reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Swede reportedly will take to the ice for warmups to make sure that he's feeling good enough to play. If so, second-year pivot Ryan Dzingel should wind up on the bench. Stalberg is versatile and can be used in a number of situations, but he's dealt with a "couple of issues" in these playoffs and that seems to be reflected on the game logs. He posted two points for his only points versus Boston in the quarterfinals, only to follow that up with a minus-5 rating and goose eggs in six games of the subsequent series against the Blueshirts. Anything can happen in the postseason, but we're not so bullish on Stalberg given the circumstances.

Stalberg's (undisclosed) status won't be decided until just before puck drop for Game 3 against Pittsburgh according to head coach Guy Boucher.
EDGE Analysis
After leaving Game 6 against the Rangers, the winger has missed the first two games against the Penguins. With two points in 12 playoff games, he isn't much of a fantasy threat even if he makes his way onto the ice.

Stalberg (undisclosed) is drawing closer to his return, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Senators will host the Penguins for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals Wednesday, and Stalberg reportedly skated in practice Sunday as a sign that he's making progress. NHL teams are intentionally cryptic about player injuries around playoff time, so we may not know what's currently bothering Stalberg until the offseason, when the Swede will be an unrestricted free agent.

Stalberg (undisclosed) won't play in Game 2 against Pittsburgh on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The winger skated in practice Sunday, but still isn't quite ready to return. His next shot at playing will come on Wednesday when the series returns to Ottawa.

Stalberg (undisclosed) was skating Sunday, and could return Monday against Pittsburgh, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The winger only has two points in 12 games during the playoffs, so he isn't the most productive fantasy option even when healthy. If there's no more news after Monday's morning skate, expect him to be a game-time decision.
