Oshie was traded to the Capitals on Thursday in exchange for forward Troy Brouwer, goalie Pheonix Copley, and a 2016 third-round draft pick, NHL.com reports.

With the Blues possessing ample young forward talent in their AHL ranks, the team decided to downsize and move Oshie to Washington while picking up some future assets. Though he'll leave one of the NHL's most productive attacks, Oshie should be in line to maintain his production in D.C., where he could have the luxury of playing next to Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom. The Capitals will have Oshie under contract for the next two seasons at a reasonable $4.175 million cap hit.

Oshie scored the Blues' lone goal Sunday's series-ending Game 6 loss to the Wild. He was minus-1 with three shots, a hit and a blocked shot in the contest.

A case of "too little, too late" as Oshie scored for the first time in the series in Game 6. He finished with just two points in six games despite firing 16 shots on net. Oshie's name came up in trade rumors during the season and with the Blues getting knocked out of the playoffs early once again, there may be some shaking up of the roster. While it seems unlikely he would be moved, the 28-year-old is certainly a marketable piece with his combination of offensive ability and defensive responsibility.

Oshie (rest) will not play Saturday against the Wild, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Both the Blues and Wild are resting a number of key players with their playoff spots secure, while also exhibiting a bit of gamesmanship due to the high probability of the two teams facing each other in the first round. Oshie will finish the regular season with 19 goals and 55 points over 72 games.

Oshie extended his assist streak to four games Friday, registering a pair of helpers in a win over Dallas.

Oshie has now recorded 36 assists this season -- just three shy of his career high. The 28-year-old is up to 55 points in 69 games and is thriving on a line with Jaden Schwartz. Even though he hasn't scored in eight straight outings, Oshie remains a dependable and consistent fantasy producer who can be trusted in most leagues.

Oshie picked up an assist Thursday in a 4-1 win over the Flames. He was plus-1 with three shots in the game.

Oshie is putting the finishing touches on a nice campaign, picking up his 53rd point of the season. He needs one goal to reach the 20-goal mark for the second straight year. The 28 year-old missed several games this year with a concussion and due to personal reasons, which may mask the fact that he has produced at a slightly higher clip than season's 60-point campaign. He is at his peak right now and should be in almost every lineup when the Blues are playing.

Oshie (illness) will play Monday against the Canucks, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

While Oshie is back in for the Blues, Alexander Steen won't be in Monday's lineup. As a result, Olli Jokinen will fill in on the team's top line, along with Oshie and David Backes.

Oshie (illness) will miss Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Oshie missed the morning skate Saturday, but was initially expected to give it a go. However, Oshie's illness hasn't cleared up and he will not play Saturday. Patrick Berglund will likely step into Oshie's place on the line. His next chance to return will be Monday against Vancouver.

Oshie missed the Blues' morning skate with an illness, but is expected to play later in the evening Saturday against the Blue Jackets, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.

Coach Ken Hitchcock didn't seem to think that Oshie's illness was particularly severe, so the winger will rest up over the afternoon with the hope that it will allow him to suit up later in the evening. His availability or potential absence should be confirmed based on pregame warmups, which will be conducted about a half hour prior to the 8:00 ET puck drop.

Oshie picked up an assist Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime win over the Penguins. He was plus-1 with two PIM, one shot, and one hit in the contest.

If Oshie hadn't missed seven games earlier in the season he would be ready to surpass his production from last year. As it is, he will likely record his second consecutive 20-goal campaign, he has a strong plus-13 rating, and he improved his shot rate this year. He's not a youngster anymore, but Oshie is a reliable second winger for your team and a must-start on a deep and talented Blues team.
