McDonagh is currently donning a walking boot and using crutches due to the broken foot he suffered in the Eastern Conference Final against Tampa Bay, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

He'll remain in a walking boot and on crutches for four weeks, at which point his broken foot will be re-evaluated. While a broken foot is certainly nothing to scoff at, if all goes well with the healing process, McDonagh should be ready for the Rangers' training camp in September.

Coach Alain Vigneault acknowledged after the Rangers' Game 7 loss to the Lightning that McDonagh played the final couple games of the series with a broken right foot.

It likely would have taken nothing less than a broken foot for the Rangers captain not to be on the ice in the Eastern Conference Finals, but he clearly wasn't himself in the last three games. After tallying a goal and assist in Game 4, McDonagh failed to get on the score sheet and mustered only one shot on goal in Games 5 through 7. Additionally, he skated fewer than 22 minutes in each of the last three contests, well below his postseason average of 23:51 TOI.
