Kesler signed a six-year, $41.25 million contract extension with the Ducks on Wednesday, Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reports.

It's a huge deal for Kesler, especially when taking his age into consideration. He turns 31 years old next month, and will be nearly 38 when the contract extension expires. He was, however, quite productive for the Ducks in his first year with Anaheim, racking up 20 goals and 27 assists for a total of 47 points in 81 regular season games with the team in 2014-15. He also tacked on 13 points in 16 playoff contests during the Ducks' postseason run. He will remain a permanent fixture of Anaheim's top-six forward group for the foreseeable future.

Kesler scored his seventh goal of the postseason, had five shots on goal and dished out a game-high eight hits in Saturday's season-ending Game 7 loss to the Blackhawks.

A strong conclusion to the postseason for Kesler, who finished these playoffs with 13 points in 16 game. The second-line center has found a home in Anaheim and will continue to be a key piece of the puzzle moving forward. His 20-30 goal potential, combined with his strong shot and PIM totals, will make him an attractive fantasy option once again come next season.

Kesler potted a goal and was credited with the primary assist on the overtime winner in Monday's Game 5 against the Blackhawks.

Kesler was shutout off the scoresheet through the first three games of the Western Conference Finals, but he's found the back of the net in each of the last two. He's up to 11 points through 15 games in the playoffs.

Kesler netted a goal and fired off three shots in his 27:16 of ice time in Saturday's Game 4 double-overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

Kesler has been mostly effective this series in limiting the impact of Jonathan Toews, even though the Blackhawks center did record two points in Game 4. However, Kesler at least mitigated the damage by scoring his first point of the series, while kicking off a string of three unanswered goals in a 37-second span. The Ducks wouldn't be able to parlay that third-period surge into a victory, but their fortunes could change when the series shifts to Anaheim on Monday for Game 5.

Kesler ran his assist streak to three games after recording a helper in Friday's Game 4 triumph over the Flames.

Though the Ducks have whipped both of their two opponents in the postseason thus far and have played only eight games, Kesler has still returned plenty of value for those that rolled the dice on him in playoff pools. He's notched an impressive three goals, five assists, and plus-3 rating through the first two rounds, with one of those goals representing the series clincher against the Jets.
