Rinne nearly coughed up a 3-0 lead Saturday against the Capitals, but was able to escape with a 4-3 victory. He made 25 saves in the win.

Though he wasn't able to hold down the Capitals over the final two periods, Rinne made enough key saves to extend his winning streak to four games. With the Predators aiming to secure favorable positioning for the playoffs, it wouldn't be overly surprising if coach Barry Trotz stuck with Rinne for the second half of the team's back-to-back Sunday versus the Flames.

The Predators will roll with Rinne in goal for Saturday's matinee tilt in Washington.

After a relative rough stretch over the last few weeks, Rinne seems to be back to form, as he's won three games in a row while surrendering only four goals. The Capitals will counter with one of the league's better goalies in Braden Holtby in their net, potentially making for a low-scoring affair Saturday.

Rinne stopped 28 of 30 in Thursday's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay -- his third consecutive victory.

Rinne's starting to hit his stride again, having given up just four goals over the course of those three wins. He's been one of the league's best goalies all year long, so it's not surprising to see him righting the ship, but it's extra nice that he did it against the tough Tampa offense.

Rinne will be in the net Thursday against the Lightning, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He'll square off against the Bolts' Ben Bishop, whose 36 wins on the season trail only Rinne (39) and the Habs' Carey Price (40). Rinne will have his work cut out for him in slowing the Bolts' powerful attack, but the goalie's impressive ratios this season (2.08 GAA, .927 save percentage) and over his last several outings probably makes him a safe activation Thursday, though a less attractive play in daily formats.

Rinne is slated to start Thursday's game against the Lightning, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rinne, who will square off against a Tampa Bay squad that has won four straight games, has won his last two starts and heads into Thursday's action four triumphs shy of tying the Preds' franchise record for wins in a season (43) that he set in 2011-12.

Rinne stopped 27 of 29 shots Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime win against visiting Montreal.

A big win for Rinne against a quality opponent -- he needed this game even coming off a shutout of Buffalo, since no one's really too impressed by a blanking of the sad-sack Sabres. That's the 39th win of the year for Rinne, which is pretty darn spectacular, considering he missed a significant period of time to injury.

Rinne will start Tuesday's game against the Canadiens, The Tennessean reports.

Once the favorite to take home the Vezina Trophy, Rinne will be matched up against Habs goaltender Carey Price, who now seems to be ahead in the race for the award. Rinne is coming off a shutout and has been spectacular this season, but Price leads all qualified goalies in wins, save percentage and GAA.

Rinne stopped all 24 shots he faced in Saturday's win over Buffalo.

A terrific outing for Rinne, who advances to 38-15-4 on the season. It was a good bounce-back effort from the 32-year-old, as he had lost two straight games and allowed seven goals in that span. While he's had some rough outings of late, Rinne still owns a .927 save percentage and 2.09 GAA, making him an automatic roll every game.

Rinne will receive the start in goal Saturday against the Sabres, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.

While a matchup against the league's worst team would normally be a good spot for backup goalie Carter Hutton to get some work, the increasingly desperate Predators have been skidding of late, and will thus stick with Rinne to improve their odds of securing the victory. Rinne has won only three of his last 13 games while seeing a subsequent decline in his ratios, but that shouldn't deter fantasy owners from keeping him active Saturday. Even goalies of lesser skill than Rinne make for automatic plays against the Sabres these days.

Rinne gave up three goals on just 21 shots Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime loss to Minnesota.

The star netminder was outdueled by rising star Devan Dubnyk when he allowed the game-winner just 22 seconds into the fourth period. It looked for a bit there like Rinne was getting back on track after an extended losing streak, but he's now allowed seven goals over the last two games. Consistency has been oddly elusive for him lately.
