Ekman-Larsson will play for team Sweden at the upcoming World Championships, reports Sarah McLellan of AZ Central.

Ekman-Larsson led NHL defensemen in goals this year with 23, while posting 43 points and a minus-18 rating. He also took a career-high 264 shots, an increase of nearly one-third over the previous year, and 20 points on the power play to become a true offensive force from the blue line. He is coming into his own at just 23-years-old and should be among the top defensemen selected in drafts next year.

Ekman-Larsson scored twice and added an assist in a win over the Sharks.

The 23-year-old is now up to a whopping 23 goals in 79 games on the season. He's a defenseman and he's currently on track to finish amongst the league's top-50 goal-scorers -- sensational. His plus-19 rating is disappointing, but the Coyotes are having a horrible season and Ekman-Larsson's 43 points are very impressive. Keep him rolling in this final stretch.

Ekman-Larsson scored his 21st goal, added an assist and went plus-1 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over Buffalo.

That's three straight games with a point and a very shiny seven points -- four goals and three assists -- in the last five games for Ekman-Larsson, representing a strong late-season run for a guy the Coyotes will be leaning on for years to come. He's now hit 40 points for the second straight season, and it's suddenly looking likely that he'll clear last year's 44 before all's said and done.

Ekman-Larsson picked up a power-play assist and then helped out on Mark Arcobello's overtime winner Tuesday in Detroit.

He's been the rare blueliner with more goals than assists, but Tuesday's production pulled the two stats closer to even -- OEL now has 20 goals and 18 helpers for the season. With five points in his last three games, Ekman-Larsson's on a strong season-closing run.

Ekman-Larsson is the first NHL defenseman to hit the 20-goal mark this season, as he scored the lone Coyotes' goal in Sunday's loss to the Canucks.

Ekman-Larsson has been firing on all cylinders of late, piling up three goals on 18 shots in his last three games. He's now up to 36 points in 73 games and appears destined for a second consecutive 40-point campaign. The workhorse, who averages 24:55 of ice time, should be in your lineup every game.

Ekman-Larsson was the whole of the Coyotes' offense Thursday, as he took nine shots and scored his 18th and 19th goals of the year in a 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.

The markers snapped a three-game stretch of point-getting futility for OEL and a goalless skid more than a month long, dating back to Feb. 16. On any other team, he'd be one of the most valuable defensemen in fantasy, as Ekman-Larsson now leads all NHL blueliners in goals, but the context of playing for the Coyotes has not been kind to him, as he has only 16 assists on the year and a minus-20 rating. If he doesn't score the goals on this team, no one does.

Ekman-Larsson (upper body) will play in Saturday's game against the Devils, Sarah McLellan of The Arizona Republic reports.

Ekman-Larsson didn't make the decision until after taking pregame warmups, but he'll ultimately be taking the ice despite sustaining an upper-body injury in Thursday's loss to Chicago.

Ekman-Larsson (upper-body) is on the ice for Saturday's pregame warmups but still hasn't decided whether or not he'll play, Sarah McLellan of The Arizona Republic reports.

It appears that Ekman-Larsson is in line to play if he wants, but he won't decide if he'll play until right before the puck drops. As a result, it may be wise to find other options just in case he pulls the plug.

Ekman-Larsson sustained an upper-body injury in Thursday's loss to the Blackhawks and is being listed as day-to-day, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Ekman-Larsson was knocked into the boards late in Thursday's game by the Blackhawks' Joakim Nordstrom, who will have a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety for the hit. While coach Dave Tippett isn't ruling out Ekman-Larsson for Saturday's game against the Devils, the blueliner's status appears to be in some peril after he was unable to skate at Friday's practice. More clarity on OEL's situation should become available Saturday morning, but his potential absence would be a major blow to a Coyotes squad that is already woefully short on offensive-minded talent. Ekman-Larsson ranks second among all NHL blueliners with 17 goals on the season.

Ekman-Larsson picked up an assist Thursday in a 3-2 shootout win over the Canucks. He took three shots and added three hits and a block on the night.

With the departure of Keith Yandle and Antoine Vermette, OEL is tied with Sam Gagner for the team lead with 32 points. It has been a tough year in some ways for Ekman-Larsson (he's got an ugly minus-21), but he has set new career-highs in goals and shots, which suggest some growth. The Coyotes rebuild may hold him back a bit, but he remains among the better young defensemen in the NHL. If you can get him at a good price for next year, consider it.
