Even though Michalek is past his prime, he's adept on the power play and projected for second-line duty with James van Riemsdyk and Nazem Kadri, a pair of heavy point producers. Consider buying low on Michalek.

The savvy veteran has had trouble with injuries, as he was traded to the Buds in early February with the club knowing he was dealing with a fractured finger. With the Leafs having been eliminated from playoff contention for a while now, he has plenty of time to get over this latest ailment for 2016-17. Replacing Michalek on the roster is Frederik Gauthier, who reportedly was called up from the minors Saturday.

That pair of primary helpers represent Michalek's first assists with the man advantage all season. A two-time 60-point man earlier in his career, the Czech veteran is currently thin on fantasy value outside deep formats despite a spike in ice time over the last two games.

Michalek overcame a finger injury and made his Leafs debut Monday against the Sabres, picking up four hits and two PIM in 12:43 of ice time, including 1:32 on the man advantage.

Last month, Michalek was involved in a nine-player swap that resulted in defenseman Dion Phaneuf ending up with the Senators. A fractured finger had kept Michalek out until Monday, but he was quite active in the limited time that he was on the ice.
