Brown (leg) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.

Coach Todd McLellan indicated Wednesday that Brown could make his return to the lineup over the weekend, and the winger's activation only adds further credence to that idea. Look for him to make his first appearance since Dec. 9 in either of the Sharks' back-to-back contests against the Coyotes on Friday or Saturday.

Brown (leg) skated as an extra on the fourth line during Wednesday's practice, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Coach Todd McLellan said that Brown wouldn't be ready to play Wednesday against the Avalanche, but with another practice, the winger might be cleared to return over the weekend. Brown has been sidelined since Dec. 9 with a broken fibula.

Brown (leg) continued to skate Saturday morning, but still remains far off from returning to game action, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Brown has been slow to heal since breaking a bone in his leg in December. The Sharks don't seem to be counting on him to return to the lineup before the end of the regular season.

Brown (leg) practiced Monday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

There had been fears that Brown, who suffered a broken bone in his right leg back on Dec. 9, might not play again this season, but Monday's report suggests that the fourth-liner could see action as the Sharks' upcoming seven-game road trip progresses.

Coach Todd McLellan said Wednesday that it's looking "bleaker and bleaker" that Brown (leg) will return this season, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Brown has been able to skate on his own in recent weeks, but he still has yet to take part in any team activity since suffering a broken bone in his right leg Dec. 9. The Sharks will continue to monitor him regularly in the hope he notices some more healing before the season ends, but the team doesn't appear to be counting on him for support down the stretch. The 29-year-old has appeared in just eight games this season.

Brown (leg) skated with the Sharks at Saturday's morning practice, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

It was Brown's first on-ice workout with the team since he fractured a bone in his right leg Dec. 9. The winger has reported some gradual improvement with his condition over the last few days, but is still getting over a setback in his recovery that he suffered a few weeks back. There's no timetable for his return and likely won't be until he's able to participate in full-contact practice.

Brown (leg) has yet to receive clearance to skate, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Kurz appears to be several weeks away from taking to the ice, meaning he'll more than likely be facing the far end of his six-to-eight week recovery timetable, or perhaps even longer. As a fixture in the Sharks' bottom six, Brown hadn't seen many point-scoring opportunities on the few occasions he's been healthy enough to play this season.

Brown has a broken right fibula and will miss six-to-eight weeks from the time of the fracture on Dec. 9, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Brown was placed on injured reserve the day after the injury, indicating it was severe. Now that the injury has been revealed as a broken fibula, the timetable has been set at six-to-eight weeks, scheduling his return for late January or early February

Brown (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

The move doesn't come as much of a surprise after coach Todd McLellan announced after Tuesday's game that Brown would be "out for a while." The Sharks haven't indicated specifically how much time Brown will miss, but the IR placement ensures that it will be at least seven days, and most likely, well beyond that.
