Samuelsson announced his retirement from professional hockey this week, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The 38-year-old played in his native Sweden this season after appearing in 26 games with the Red Wings in 2013-14. In addition to his two stints in Detroit, Samuelsson spent time with the Sharks, Rangers, Penguins, Panthers, and Canucks, finishing his NHL career with 149 goals and 346 points in 699 career games.
