Del Zotto collected six hits and a power-play goal in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.

Del Zotto really flaunted his aggressive side in front of the home crowd in this one. While the 24-year-old blueliner has dealt with his share of injuries this season, when healthy, he's been a fine option in a variety of different formats thanks to his impressive offensive output of 32 points in 61 games.

Del Zotto (upper body) will play Thursday against the Flames, Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

The return of Del Zotto provides the Flyers with not only one of their most effective scorers from the blue line, but on the entire team. Over his last 21 games prior to missing six contests with the upper-body injury, Del Zotto notched 16 points; only forward Wayne Simmonds put up as many points during that span. The Flyers reassigned Brandon Manning to AHL Lehigh Valley to clear the way for Del Zotto's return to the lineup.

Del Zotto (upper body) said that he's ready to return to the lineup Thursday against the Flames, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Del Zotto has missed the last six games with the upper-body injury, but is traveling with the Flyers on their four-game road trip and has been able to resume practicing with the club. Evidently, he's made enough progress in the eyes of the medical staff, though his return to the lineup likely won't be formally confirmed until after Thursday's morning skate. With nine goals and 26 points on the campaign -- both of which trail only Mark Streit among Flyers blueliners -- Del Zotto could earn a contract extension before the season comes to a close.

Del Zotto (upper body) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Senators, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Del Zotto will travel with the Flyers for their four-game road trip that kicks off Sunday and ends Mar. 21 in Edmonton. It seems more likely than not that the blueliner won't be available to the latter end of the trip at the earliest, since he remains limited to skating on his own for the time being.

Del Zotto (upper body) skated on his own prior to Friday's practice, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.

According to the report, Del Zotto was on the ice for about 15 minutes, but didn't appear to be very comfortable while skating. With that in mind, it appears safe to rule him out for Saturday's game against the Red Wings, while a return for Sunday's game in Ottawa remains similarly shrouded in doubt.

General manager Ron Hextall said that Del Zotto (upper body) is "very doubtful" to play Saturday against the Red Wings, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Del Zotto plans to skate Friday to test out how much progress he has made with the injury, but it doesn't sound like he's closing in on a return just yet. However, if Del Zotto is able to demonstrate that he's reasonably healthy when he gets back on the ice, the Flyers might be more willing to let him play Sunday in Ottawa for the second game of a back-to-back.
