Bartkowski saw 13:02 worth of ice time Monday against the Flames in his first game since Dec. 31.With Kevan Miller hurting again, Bartkowski -- who has recorded four assists in 21 games to date -- has a chance to remain in the B's lineup for the time being, assuming he's not included in a deal in advance of the NHL's trade deadline.

Bartkowski will not be suspended or fined for his hit to the head on the Sabres' Brian Gionta on Sunday night, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.

The NHL Department of Player Safety deemed Bartkowski's hit on Gionta to be an example of incidental contact to the head, since the Bruins blueliner didn't specifically target the head on his attempted check. Gionta ended up skating off the ice after the hit, but never returned to the game, suggesting he might have sustained a concussion. The Sabres' Marcus Foligno would later injure his hand in a fight with Bartkowski, who ended up picking up a season-high 20 PIM in the 4-3 victory.

Bartkowski contributed a pair of assists and picked up four PIM in Friday's shootout win over Columbus.

That's three points in two games for Bartkowski, who has only appeared in eight games this season. Considering he doesn't play on the power play and has never recorded more than 18 points in a season, don't expect much more offense from the 26-year-old. Bartkowski's on the third defensive pairing and won't provide much value outside of the deepest of leagues.

This will be the fifth-straight game that Bartkowski will be a healthy scratch from the lineup. Keeping that in mind, there's likely far better options than the 26-year-old native of Pittsburgh when considering his propensity to stay on the bench.

Bartkowski was a healthy scratch Thursday against the Sabres, the Boston Globe reports.

With Bartkowski scratched and Torey Krug out, Joe Morrow and David Warsofsky entered the Bruins' lineup Thursday. Through five games, Bartkowski has yet to record a point, while carrying a minus-4 plus/minus rating in that span. Given the team's blue line injuries, Bartkowski will be needed by the Bruins in the coming weeks, though in the short-term, it's unclear how soon we'll see him back in the lineup.

With Kevan Miller out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, Bartkowski is in line to rejoin the Bruins' lineup Tuesday against the Sharks, the Bruins' official site reports.

After being a healthy scratch for six of the Bruins' first seven games, Bartkowski figures to see regular duty in Miller's absence. While Bartkowski doesn't produce enough offense to merit fantasy consideration, his mobility and ability in the transition game are assets to the Bruins' blue line corps.

Bartkowski appears to be the odd man out on the Boston blue line for Wednesday's season opener against the Flyers, the Boston Herald reports.

Though the Bruins traded Johnny Boychuk, they are still carrying an extra defenseman, and out of the gate it looks like Bartkowski is the team's spare, while Adam McQuaid and and Kevan Miller are on track to suit up on Wednesday.
