Bartkowski signed a one-year deal with the Canucks on Wednesday worth $1.75 million, the Boston Herald reports.

At first glance, Bartkowski -- who notched just four helpers in 47 games for the Bruins last season -- may not appear to have much fantasy upside, but he is a smooth skater who retains some untapped potential on offense, so he could see an uptick in production with the Canucks in 2015-16.

Bartkowski is slated to become a free agent this offseason, reports.

The same applies to fellow blueliner Adam McQuaid, with both players candidates to return to the Bruins, at the right price. Bartkowski, who recorded just four assists in 47 games for the B's this past season, had his share of ups and downs in 2014-15, but the 26-year-old blueliner is a smooth skater who retains some untapped potential on offense.

Bartkowski saw 13:02 worth of ice time Monday against the Flames in his first game since Dec. 31.With Kevan Miller hurting again, Bartkowski -- who has recorded four assists in 21 games to date -- has a chance to remain in the B's lineup for the time being, assuming he's not included in a deal in advance of the NHL's trade deadline.

Bartkowski will not be suspended or fined for his hit to the head on the Sabres' Brian Gionta on Sunday night, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.

The NHL Department of Player Safety deemed Bartkowski's hit on Gionta to be an example of incidental contact to the head, since the Bruins blueliner didn't specifically target the head on his attempted check. Gionta ended up skating off the ice after the hit, but never returned to the game, suggesting he might have sustained a concussion. The Sabres' Marcus Foligno would later injure his hand in a fight with Bartkowski, who ended up picking up a season-high 20 PIM in the 4-3 victory.

Bartkowski is slated to be a scratch Saturday against the Coyotes, the Boston Herald reports.

With Bartkowski -- who has three assists in 14 games to date -- in line to sit, Joe Morrow is on track to rejoin the B's lineup on Saturday.

Bartkowski contributed a pair of assists and picked up four PIM in Friday's shootout win over Columbus.

That's three points in two games for Bartkowski, who has only appeared in eight games this season. Considering he doesn't play on the power play and has never recorded more than 18 points in a season, don't expect much more offense from the 26-year-old. Bartkowski's on the third defensive pairing and won't provide much value outside of the deepest of leagues.

Bartkowski is expected to be a healthy scratch for Monday's game against the Devils, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.

This will be the fifth-straight game that Bartkowski will be a healthy scratch from the lineup. Keeping that in mind, there's likely far better options than the 26-year-old native of Pittsburgh when considering his propensity to stay on the bench.

Bartkowski was a healthy scratch Thursday against the Sabres, the Boston Globe reports.

With Bartkowski scratched and Torey Krug out, Joe Morrow and David Warsofsky entered the Bruins' lineup Thursday. Through five games, Bartkowski has yet to record a point, while carrying a minus-4 plus/minus rating in that span. Given the team's blue line injuries, Bartkowski will be needed by the Bruins in the coming weeks, though in the short-term, it's unclear how soon we'll see him back in the lineup.
