Foligno netted a pair of goals and fired five shots on goal in Friday's loss to Chicago.

While he's now got five points in his last six games, the goals were his first in 24 outings. Currently skating on the second line, the 23-year-old is an inconsistent scorer who shows flashes of brilliance, but remains too streaky to be trusted in anything but the deepest of leagues.

Foligno pocketed an assist in Monday's win over the Coyotes.

Foligno has three assists in his last four games, but that shouldn't be taken as an endorsement to go out and add him to your fantasy roster. His standing on the Sabres' roster is in itself detrimental to his plus/minus rating, and he doesn't have the requisite scoring skills to make up for it. Even after this minor run, Foligno still has a meager 17 points in 51 games this season.

Foligno gathered an assist in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Capitals.

Foligno helped set up Johan Larsson's first-period marker that gave the Sabres an early 1-0 lead, which would prove to be the team's highlight of the night. The 23-year-old has been holding down a top-six role upon returning from thumb surgery in early February, but only has a goal and four assists since that time.

Foligno returned to the lineup Sunday, scoring a goal, adding an assist and dishing out five hits in a loss to the Islanders.

A terrific return for the 23-year-old, who had been sidelined since late December following a fight with Boston's Matt Bartkowski. With six goals and 11 points in 29 games, the third-liner doesn't provide much fantasy value outside of the deepest of leagues. He's collected 43 PIM and has potential, though, so if he can find some consistency, he could be worth looking at in very deep formats.

Foligno (thumb) will return to the lineup Sunday against the Islanders.

Foligno was expected to make his return from an extended absence Sunday, and that appears to be confirmed. The winger has been sidelined since late December following a fight with Boston's Matt Bartkowski, limiting him to just 28 games so far this season. With his return, Cody Hodgson will be bumped out of the lineup Sunday.

Foligno (thumb) is expected to return Sunday against the Islanders, reports Brian Koziol of WGR 550.

Out since late December after a fight with Boston's Matt Bartkowski, Foligno has played in just 28 games this season, scoring nine points. He was used as a center prior to his injury and it remains to be seen if he'll return to that position, but the Sabres could use a boost from Foligno's aggressive and physical style of play. Teammate Chris Stewart has been on fire, which can hopefully rub off on Foligno, an occasional linemate. Foligno is very likely to dress. If not, he'll certainly return Tuesday. No word on who will be taken out of the lineup, but the smart money would be on Matt Ellis or Patrick Kaleta.

Foligno (hand) was a full participant during Saturday's morning session and is getting close to a return, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.

Foligno didn't skate as part of a regular line during the session and thus won't play Saturday against the Stars, but he hasn't been ruled from suiting up in Sunday's tilt with the Islanders. Coach Ted Nolan seemed to suggest his return will most likely come Tuesday against the Senators, as Foligno is still adjusting to playing with a splint on his injured finger. He's been sidelined since late December with the ailment.

Foligno (finger) could return to action as soon as this weekend.

Foligno will not play Thursday night, but he took part in the Sabres' Thursday morning skate, which indicates he is nearly ready to resume playing. He was expected to miss 1-to-2 months after undergoing finger surgery in late December, and it looks like he will be able to return closer to the short end of that estimate.

Foligno (hand) is making progress in his recovery, but he still doesn't not have a timetable to return, the Buffalo News reports.

After suffering the injury in late December, Foligno was given a loose timetable of approximately one-to-two months. There hasn't been any update since that time.

Foligno underwent surgery on his injured finger during the recently-completed holiday break and is projected to miss a month or two, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.

In his previous acknowledgement of Foligno's injury, coach Ted Nolan seemed to indicate it would be more likely that the winger was out for the latter side of that timetable, so a late-February return looks to be the most realistic scenario here. Foligno had only nine points and a minus-6 rating over 28 games, but those in specialty formats will miss his ample contributions in the hits (92) and PIM (43) categories.
