The Phoenix Coyotes see Steve Sullivan as a potential replacement for Ray Whitney.
"He's a very similar player to Ray Whitney," Coyotes GM Don Maloney said. "A little smaller player, but very good skill, good power-play skill. So when we lost Ray, there were only a couple names we really could fill a skill position (with) and he was one of them." Sullivan might be put into a similar position, but he shouldn't be counted on to record 77 points like Whitney did in 2011-12. A 50-point season is about as good as you should hope for out of Sullivan.
