The New York Islanders' acquisition of Lubomir Visnovsky from the Anaheim Ducks has been upheld by an arbitrator.
Visnovsky attempted to void the trade on the grounds that he had a no-trade clause when the Ducks traded him. The fact that the trade was upheld is great news for the New York Islanders, but it also creates an awkward situation. Still, now that a decision has been made, the Islanders and Visnovsky will probably attempt to put this matter behind them. This is a contract year for Visnovsky and he needs to demonstrate that he's still a top-tier offensive defenseman after recording just 27 points in 68 games last season.
