The Detroit goalkeeping duo of Jimmy Howard and Petr Mrazek have allowed only four goals over the last three games.
Howard gave up two to the Kings after each goalie had given up one in their previous start, but Howard needed to stop 45 shots in the win over Los Angeles. "Absolutely, our goaltenders have been phenomenal in these last three games," defenseman Jonathan Ericsson said. "We have a lot to thank them for." Detroit is off to a surprisingly good start at 7-4-1 as many prognosticators thought they would be in trouble after losing defensemen Nicklas Lidstrom and Brad Stuart from last year's squad.
