Taylor Hall anticipates some fan backlash due to the lockout when the season starts.
"My Twitter feed is blowing up with people who are so happy to have hockey back, and then there are people saying they're not going to support us," said Hall. "I know there's going to be fans mad at us and pissed off, but I hope they come out and support us like they have in the past." That will be the big question. Traditionally, the fans have come back after work stoppages, but the fact that the NHL has had so many in proximity of each other might be particularly harmful. Still, the season was ultimately saved, so they won't have to try to rebound from the stigma of having two canceled seasons within a decade of each other.
