Rinaldo has been suspended for eight games by the NHL Department of Player Safety for boarding and charging Kris Letang in Tuesday's game against the Penguins. Rinaldo had an in-person hearing for the incident which ultimately resulted in the eight-game suspension. The repeat offender will be off the ice until Feb. 17 against the Blue Jackets while Chris VandeVelde likely takes on a larger role at left wing for the time being.
