Patrick Sharp is still optimistic about the chances of the NHL and union agreeing to a new CBA in the not too distant future.
"I remain optimistic," Sharp said. "I'm hoping both sides can make some progress. It has been frustrating. Individually, I've been able to improve from season to season, the guys in Chicago are excited about coming back and building off the last two seasons. To have everything put on hold is definitely disappointing." The two sides are scheduled to meet on Friday, but they aren't expected to discuss the core economic issues.
