Oklahoma City Barons center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, left Friday night's game against the Houston Aeros early in the second period after he took a stick to the mouth.
"Nuge had some of his teeth pushed back. He (left) to get some dental work done," said Barons coach Todd Nelson. "We don't have an update quite yet." Nugent-Hopkins' status is uncertain for Sunday afternoon's game against the Texas Stars. Nugent-Hopkins, a major part of the Edmonton Oilers' future, had been looking good for the Barons in the AHL games, especially on faceoffs, where he had improved his win percentage significantly.
