Michael Ryder enjoyed a great first season in Dallas during the 2011-12 campaign, but the off-season trade of Mike Ribeiro leaves the Stars with some decisions to make on who to play with him.
Ribeiro had great chemistry with Ryder last year and it helped him score 35 goals and 62 points in 82 games. However, he was dealt to Washington at the draft. Ryder could land a spot with Jamie Benn and Loui Eriksson, but that position will probably end up going to Jaromir Jagr. It's more likely that he plays with Ray Whitney, who is an accomplished playmaker as well, and Derek Roy when he returns from shoulder surgery. Ryder is also eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2012-13 season, so he has some extra motivation to perform.
