Martin St. Louis doesn't want to extend his career for the sake of extending it.
St. Louis wants to end his career with a bang rather than fade away. In other words, he wants to retire on top. He certainly was a superstar last season, but if a lockout wipes out the 2012-13 campaign, it might be hard for him to bounce back. "I know I can play a few more years in this league," St. Louis said. "I don't feel I'm at the end of my rope. But obviously I have to make sure that I keep sharpening my skills, stay sharp with my training. I have to get on the ice somehow." St. Louis is considering playing in Europe, but his family and the insurance fees on his NHL contract are considerations.
