Kyle Quincey is looking forward to a fresh start after a less than ideal stint with the Detroit Red Wings following his mid-season trade.
Quincey, who was a restricted free agent, ended up signing a two-year/$7.55 million contract extension with Detroit this summer. He plans to use training camp to learn Detroit systems "systems inside and out." He also sees an opportunity to step up with Brad Stuart and Nicklas Lidstrom gone. He's a bit of a gamble going into the season, but he should get a chance to serve as a top-four defensemen in Detroit.
