Kevin Bieksa and Dan Hamhuis of the Vancouver Canucks surprised a B.C. Midget team by joining them for practice Thursday.
Bieksa and Hamhuis shocked the Midget AAA North Vancouver Storm by going through drills and scrimmaging with the excited youngsters. "Yeah, I think they were surprised," Bieksa said. "When we got on the ice they were pretty shocked and there were a lot of wide eyes." One silver lining to the NHL labor stoppage is the occurrence of incidents such as this one, where players are given the opportunity to give back to their communities. Thumbs up to Bieksa and Hamhuis for taking part in this.
