Patrick Marleau LW SJ 3 years ago

It should come as no surprise that Patrick Marleau has been named the first star of the week by the NHL.

Marleau has enjoyed a scorching hot start to the season with a league-leading nine goals and 13 points in only five contests. In the process, he became the second player in NHL history, and first since Cy Denneny back in 1917-18, to record four consecutive multi-goal games to begin a season. That streak came to end on Sunday when he scored one goal and added an assist against Vancouver in a 4-1 win.
