Huberdeau agreed to terms on a six-year, $35.4 million extension with Florida on Tuesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Huberdeau has impressed in his first four NHL seasons as he has racked up a combined 172 points, including a 20-goal, 39-helper 2015-16 campaign. In addition to his tallies on the scoresheet, the winger also put up a 197 corsi rating, good enough for fifth best on the Panthers last year. Given those numbers, it is somewhat surprising that the 23-year-old was left off Team North America for the World Cup of Hockey, but fantasy owners can rest easy that he is out of harms way for what is essentially a preseason tournament.
