Evgeni Malkin is enjoying his time with Metallurg Magnitogorsk and he is looking forward to what 2013 will bring.
"We have a great team that has been recently playing very well," he said. "I hope our confidence will transfer to the next year. The playoffs are round the corner and we are eagerly looking forward to them." His lockout team trails Ak Bars Kazan and Avangard Omsk by two points in the Eastern Conference standings after winning five of their last six games and they have scored 26 goals over that span. Malkin is second in league scoring with 59 points (19 goals, 40 assists) in 35 games.
