Evgeni Malkin is eager to get back on track during the playoffs.
"I want to show my best game because this year was not great (for) me, but I have a chance to play better," he said Tuesday. Malkin was the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2009 and he was the regular season MVP last year. He still put up 33 points in 31 games this past campaign, but apparently isn't satisfied with his play. Malkin also appears to be determined to remove the sour taste in his mouth from last season's early playoff exit against Philadelphia. We'll see what kind of game he has in Wednesday's playoff opener, but it sounds like the Islanders are going to be facing a hungry Evgeni Malkin.
