Despite the NHL's lockout of players, members of the Calgary Flames have been participating the past few days in practices organized by team captain Jarome Iginla.
Among those participating in the practice in addition to Iginla have been Jay Bouwmeester, Cory Sarich, Alex Tanguay, Mikael Backlund, Curtis Glencross, Sven Baertschi and Henrik Karlsson. Lesley Reddon, former goalie of the Canadian women's squad, toiled in one of the nets. Presiding over the proceedings was Cory Cross, former NHLer and current assistant coach of the Calgary Dinos university team. "I thought it was good to have it organized, to have it like a regular practice," Iginla said. "We just go for an hour, try to stay sharp, run through drills. It kind of feels like a training camp."
