Despite a drop in goal scoring this season, Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher called Dany Heatley's play this season, "outstanding."
Heatley only had 24 goals, his fewest full-season output of his career. Minnesota dealt Martin Havlat for him and Fletcher has no regrets. "I would make that trade again tomorrow," Fletcher said. "When I look at him and the minutes he has played and the matchups he has had to play against, and the fact he has scored over 20 goals and is a plus player in light of the injuries and lack of production we have had from our blue line, I think it's been a tremendous season for him. Surround him with a healthier lineup and a little more skill in certain areas, he is obviously going to score considerably more than he did this year." If the Wild are able to add a few pieces this offseason, Heatley could be a decent buy next season in fantasy leagues.
