David Desharnais will have plenty to prove when the NHL resumes business following the lockout.
He enjoyed a breakout year in 2011-12, with 16 goals and 44 assists in 81 games, while playing on the top line between Max Pacioretty and Erik Cole and he'll be counted on to repeat that success. Desharnais will also need to reestablish himself under the banners of new GM Marc Marc Bergevin and new head coach Michel Therrien in what will be a contract year prior to hitting restricted free agency. "All I can do is be ready when the season starts," he said. "I had a great season last year, but I've to keep it rolling." He has been keeping busy in the Tourne des Joueurs charity games and with his own daily workouts.
