Brian Campbell will attempt to become just the third defenseman and the first since 1954 to win the Lady Byng Trophy on Wednesday night at the NHL Awards.
"I think everyone knows no [defenseman] has won it since 1954," said Campbell. "I think that makes it even bigger if you get a chance to win it. That would be huge. Not many people can say they've done that in their career." The Florida defender logged a total of 2,354 shifts and averaged 26:53 of ice time per game during the regular season, but he was whistled for just three minor penalties while playing in all 82 games.
