Bobrovsky gave up five goals on 36 shots in Thursday's season-opening loss to the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Staked to a 2-0 lead after the first period, Bobrovsky proceeded to completely unravel starting in the latter part of the second frame. That's certainly not what Jackets fans or fantasy owners were looking for from the 28-year-old Russian, who's coming off one of his worst NHL seasons after posting a .908 save mark in just 37 games during an injury-shortened 2015-16. It's particularly troubling that he was battered so badly by a Boston team that was missing one of its top talents in Patrice Bergeron.
