Adrian Dater of the Denver Post suggests the Avalanche should try to trade center Paul Stastny.
The potential transaction would allow Ryan O'Reilly to rejoin the top-six forward group and it would prevent resurgent pivot Matt Duchene from having to convert to the wing again. Stastny has five goals and 12 points in 20 games this season and he's value is probably on the decline. He has gotten slightly over the 50-point plateau in the past two campaigns, but he managed to surpass the 70-point mark in three of his first four seasons. He is set to earn $6.6 million in 2013-14 as well, which could make him tougher to move as well.
