Boulton scored his first goal of the season Thursday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.

Well, that's now two consecutive seasons with a goal for Boulton, who potted two goals last year after going without one in 2011-12 and 2012-13. This was also just his sixth game for the Islanders all season long; clearly he was grateful for getting back in the lineup.

Boulton (lower body) is on track to play Thursday against the Predators, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

After completing the Isles' morning skate with no complications, Boulton is set to join the lineup for the first time since Jan. 17. He's still being listed on injured reserve for the moment, but expect the team to rectify that at some point in the afternoon. Boulton, who has appeared in just four games this season while serving primarily as a healthy scratch, is expected to replace the suspended Matt Martin on the Isles' fourth line.
