Boulton (lower body) is on track to play Thursday against the Predators, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

After completing the Isles' morning skate with no complications, Boulton is set to join the lineup for the first time since Jan. 17. He's still being listed on injured reserve for the moment, but expect the team to rectify that at some point in the afternoon. Boulton, who has appeared in just four games this season while serving primarily as a healthy scratch, is expected to replace the suspended Matt Martin on the Isles' fourth line.

Boulton (undisclosed) has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 17, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.

A healthy scratch for the past couple of months, Boulton presumably suffered an injury during practice. His absence doesn't change much for the Islanders.

The Islanders activated Boulton (lower body) from injured reserve Thursday.

Boulton is set to return to action after missing the last 14 games. It's uncertain if he will play Thursday against the Blues, and what his role will be moving forward.

Boulton (lower body) will rejoin the Islanders for their two-game road trip beginning Tuesday in Minnesota, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

The fact that Boulton is with the team and presumably back skating suggests he could be ready to go for the second game of the trip Thursday in St. Louis. The Islanders have preemptively cleared a 23-man roster spot for him by placing Casey Cizikas (upper body) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Boulton (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, according to the NHL's official media site.

Boulton took part in Thursday's practice, but it sounds like the Islanders will use his injury as a means of activating Josh Bailey (hand) in time for Friday's game against the Panthers. The 38-year-old has typically been a healthy scratch this season, giving him little utility in the fantasy realm.

Boulton (undisclosed) will not play Tuesday against the Avalanche, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

After previous serving as a healthy scratch in each of the Isles' first 11 games, Boulton replaced Cory Conacher on the fourth line for the past three contests. However, he'll have to head back to the press box Tuesday, following his early exit from Monday's practice after tweaking something. Conacher will reenter the lineup in his stead.

Boulton had to leave practice early Monday after "tweaking" something, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.

Boulton has been getting in the lineup lately as coach Jack Capuano has been sitting some of his under performing regulars but looks likely to sit Tuesday.

Boulton will enter the lineup Wednesday against the Ducks.

Boulton, who has been a healthy scratch for the Isles' first 11 games of the season, will replace Casey Cizikas in the lineup. The veteran fourth-liner provided some useful penalty-minute production when he played last season, but because he often spends most of his time in the press box, it will be hard for him to provide much value with any consistency.

The New York Islanders locked up Eric Boulton for another season on Sunday.

He doesn't provide much more than PIM (88 in 23 games this season), so mainly a JFYI.
