Brassard underwent wrist surgery last week, Andrew Gross of the Record reports.

The procedure, which was done to repair an extensor tendon, involves a four-to-six week recovery, so the Rangers expect Brassard -- who notched 60 points in 80 games this past season -- to be available for the start of training camp.

Brassard scored three goals on 10 shots, added two assists and went plus-5 in Tuesday's Game 6 victory over the Lightning.

The hat-trick-completing goal came into an empty net, but it was a well-deserved one, as Brassard played an excellent game. With nine goals and seven assists in these playoffs, he's been the Rangers' most reliable offensive performer.

Brassard picked up a power-play assist in Friday's Game 4 victory over the Lightning.

Brassard has been a steady producer for the Rangers throughout their playoff run, never going more than one game without recording a point. Collectively, he's accrued six goals and five assists across 16 contests and three rounds, which has made him a serviceable selection for those in postseason pools.

Brassard dished out a pair of assists Sunday -- one on the power play -- en route to a Game 6 victory over the Capitals.

Brassard continues to provide playoff production for the Rangers, as he's now tallied up eight points in 11 games. However, it's worth noting that he took a hard hit and appeared to suffer a shoulder injury; although Brassard was able to return to the ice, he didn't look quite as sharp has he had earlier in the game. That's something to keep an eye on, but he'll have a couple days to rehabilitate before Game 7 on Wednesday.

Brassard notched his fifth goal of the postseason Wednesday in a Game 4 loss to the Capitals.

Brassard is the only Ranger that is scoring, so even though he has five goals, the Rangers are on the verge of elimination. He also only has one assist, but then again he has 10 penalty minutes, so he's not just a one category contributor.

Brassard logged a goal in Game 2 on Saturday, a 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh.

That's a goal in the each of the first two contests of the playoff series. Outside of a three game rut, the team's second line center has been finding the net more consistently as of late, seven goals and 10 points over his last 15 contests.

Brassard scored 28 seconds into Thursday's Game 1 victory over Pittsburgh. He ended up with five shots on goal and three hits.

Ryan McDonagh made it 2-0 with a power-play goal later in the period, and then New York's offense dried up. Fortunately, Henrik Lundqvist held off the Penguins well enough for the win. After setting new personal bests in both goals (19) and assists (41), Brassard should be a key piece of the Rangers' playoff push.

The six shots matched Brassard's total from the previous four games combined, while the goal gave him his third point in six April contests.
