Desharnais finally tallied his first goal of this year's playoffs Thursday in a 6-2 Game 4 win over the Lightning.

Other than a two-assist effort way back in Game 2 against Ottawa, Desharnais had been held off the scoresheet entirely during this postseason. His ice time has dropped of late, too, as he's played under 15 minutes in three of the last five games, and he was just barely over (15:04) in Game 3 after missing Game 2 with an illness.

Desharnais (illness) will play in Game 3 on Wednesday against the Lightning, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Desharnais missed Game 2 and was hospitalized due to the illness, but will return to the lineup for a pivotal Game 3 matchup. Assuming nothing occurs during the contest, he should be good to go moving forward.

Desharnais (illness) has joined the team in Tampa and is expected to play in Wednesday's Game 3, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Desharnais was hospitalized Sunday due to the illness, but after receiving some fluids, it looks like he's now approaching full health. Though the center isn't a primary scorer for the Habs, his proficiency in the faceoff circle and as an assist man are skills the team will need to overcome a 2-0 series deficit.

Desharnais (illness) is en route to Tampa and expected to arrive Tuesday afternoon, ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun reports.

Desharnais is thus a candidate to play Wednesday against the Lightning, though added clarity on that front may not arrive until the Habs' pre-game skate in advance of Game 3.

Coach Michel Therrien said Desharnais (illness) could possibly play in one of the Habs' two upcoming games in Tampa Bay, ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun reports.

Desharnais didn't travel with the team to Tampa Bay on Monday, but if he notices some more improvement with his condition, he'll likely join the Canadiens later on during their stay in Florida. He likely has a more realistic shot at playing in Thursday's Game 4 rather than Game 3 on Wednesday, which would give him an additional day to show the coaching staff that he's healthy.

Desharnais (illness) did not travel with the team to Tampa on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Desharnais missed Sunday's Game 2 matchup with flu-like symptoms, so it's not surprising that he'll skip the team ride to Tampa on Monday. The Canadiens don't play again until Wednesday, so it's still possible that he joins the club before the contest. His status should be updated at some point prior to the game indicating whether or not he can dress.

Desharnais will not play in Game 2 Sunday against the Lightning because of flu symptoms, the TSN Montreal Bureau reports.

Without Desharnais, the Canadiens will rely on Brian Flynn to step into his spot. Desharnais got the flu a couple months ago and only missed a few days, so expect him to be questionable going into Game 3 of this series against Tampa Bay.

Desharnais collected two assists in Friday's Game 2 win over Ottawa.

A dominant effort from Desharnais, who saw 18:40 of ice time in the victory. With the return of Max Pacioretty, Desharnais saw his ice time from Game 1 increase by a whopping six minutes in Game 2. While he's only scored twice in 29 career playoff games, Desharnais, skating on the second line with Pacioretty, can be a difference maker in a playoff series.

Desharnais assisted on Max Pacioretty's game-winner in Saturday night's 3-2 overtime win against Florida.

Desharnais has four points in the previous five games. Not so coincidentally, his streak is fueled by a move back to the top line with Pacioretty.
