Pardy (shoulder) re-signed Wednesday with the Jets on a one-year, $1 million contract, Aaron Ward of TSN reports.

The Jets' current roster is a bit overloaded on blueliners, but Pardy's cheap contract will enable the team to keep him around as a depth defender. The 31-year-old, who is coming off April shoulder surgery, should be healthy for training camp, but projects as little more than a bottom-pair or No. 7 defenseman. He appeared in 55 games for the Jets last season, scoring no goals and notching nine assists.

Pardy scored the lone Winnipeg goal in Saturday's Game 2 loss to the Ducks.

It was Pardy's first career playoff goal and his first goal overall since Jan. 26 2011, ending a 172 game drought. While he logged 17:32 of ice time in the loss, don't expect much more offense from Pardy, as the stay-at-home blueliner notched just nine points in 55 regular-season games this year.

Pardy assisted on Adam Lowry's second-period goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Stars.

Pardy had been a healthy scratch for much of January, but with Ben Chiarot (hand) out for the next six weeks and Dustin Byfuglien moving back to forward, he's entered the lineup for each of the last three games. The 30-year-old should continue to hold down a regular spot for the Jets for the foreseeable future, but don't expect much offense to come with it. He's tallied a mere 44 points in 296 career NHL contests.

Pardy assisted on a goal and finished with a plus-2 rating in Sunday's loss to the Wild.

Pardy's assist game on an attempted shot that was deflected into the net by teammate Andrew Ladd, giving the Jets their third unanswered goal in the third period to send the game to overtime. The blueliner has played in just seven games this season and typically serves as the team's healthy scratch, a role that doesn't figure to change despite his strong performance Sunday.

Adam Pardy can become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

"There was a lot of things that crept into my head this year. I sat down one day and said, 'You know what? I'm going to drive myself crazy... I can't keep thinking about this,' so I kind of just put it out of my head," he said. "Once the season is over we'll approach that when it comes. Right now it's about hockey. We were in a playoff push and nothing else mattered." Pardy has five assists in 58 games this season and he's averaged 14:13 of ice time per contest.

Adam Pardy had his helmet ripped off by a fan after a check he received knocked out a pane of glass at the United Center.

To add insult to injury, he also got some beer dumped on his head. "It's tough enough to get put through the glass, but then to get a beer thrown on my head, too, not a good thing," he said. "That was a first. They're into it, that's a good thing, I guess." The hit came from Chicago's Brandon Bollig. Pardy doesn't have any fantasy value.
