The San Jose Sharks ended a seven-game winless swoon Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory over the Blues in St. Louis and perhaps it has something to do with a comment defenseman Dan Boyle made before the game.
Ask the Sharks or their coach what needs to improve so the Sharks play more like the team that went 7-0-0 to open the season and you get answers that are probably the same as you'd get from anyone who has watched them play this season. It's about compete level and execution, right? "What's the problem," Boyle was asked. "It's mental. It's heart. It's putting your mind to it. All it takes is one stride and you take off. It's half a second here and there and that can definitely be better, more consistent."
