Tomas Plekanec (bruised ribs) joined his teammates on the ice Wednesday for his first practice.
He pulled a muscle when he made an awkward move while playing in the Czech Republic and sat out the early part of training camp with bruised ribs. Plekanec didn't say if he would participate in Thursday's scrimmage or play in Saturday's opening contest, but he appeared to be comfortable while skating between Alex Galchenyuk and Brian Gionta on the second line.
