Alexander Semin LW CAR Oct 31 '12
Alexander Semin is the latest KHLer to hint at staying in Russia if the new CBA isn't to his liking.
"I'll look at what contract they actually sign," he told R-Sport. "I like it here overall." Semin signed a one-year deal worth $7 million with Carolina as a free agent this past summer. He has one goal and four assists in five games since joining Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL, but admitted to not feeling completely up to speed yet. "Yes, I'm scoring points, it's good and it's nice, but you shouldn't get fixated on that, he said. "Anyway, I'm still very far from my optimum form. I didn't play for a long time. And in order to get to your previous level, you need to play decently, in general." New Jersey's Ilya Kovalchuk and Washington's Alex Ovechkin have also expressed concerns about possible changes to the CBA.
