Colin Greening was still looking for a spot in Europe to play prior to the NHLPA receiving the league's latest proposal on Tuesday.
"The spots over there are pretty few and far between," he said. "Teams are worried about the lockout ending and their transfer cards. I don't know all the ins and outs of it, but I know teams are hesitant to bring guys over because it could be a temporary situation. There's insurance. There are a lot of factors that go into it." European clubs and NHL players may be more reluctant to agree to contracts now that there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel in new CBA discussions. Still, Greening said he would like to find a way to stay sharp for when the season does start. In 82 games last year, he posted 17 goals, 189 hits and 37 points.
