Teemu Selanne RW ANA Sep 05 '12
Teemu Selanne may benefit from a lockout to start the year because he has shown signs of wearing down despite his impressive statistics the past two seasons.
Last season was the first time that he played a full 82-game schedule since 2006-07 and during that span he skated in 70-plus contests just one other time. Selanne also racks up most of his points with the man advantage, where he had 12 of his 26 goals and 28 of his 66 points last year. He should remain a threat on the power play, but his goal production at even strength may be slipping. A shortened schedule may help keep him fresher, but playing a condensed amount of games can also be taxing. Selanne will enter the year 12th on the NHL all-time goal scoring list and in fourth place in power-play scores. The 42-year-old veteran should be more than capable of adding to those totals in 2012-13.
