Teddy Purcell doesn't want the NHL to lose a year because of a lockout because it hurts the players.
"I don't think it's good for anybody - older guys who only have a couple of years left, they don't want to miss a year, and younger guys like me, who are just starting to establish themselves in the league," he said. "As a player, you want to take the next step in your career, and a year off would hinder that." Purcell established career highs in 2011-12 with 24 goals and 65 points in 81 games and he signed a three-year contract extension back in July. He also stated that like many other players, he is considering playing in Europe if the season gets canceled.
